It's my story...
Writing to me is as reading is to others--relaxing, inspiring, the desire of my heart. I want to share the Good News of Jesus Christ and his love for us in story form. If I can make you laugh, if my books are memorable, and if you come away seeking a deeper relationship with God, then I have accomplished what I set out to do. That is my goal.
I am the mother of three awesome people, my son Sgt. Brandon, USMC, police officer, my son Caleb (future patrol officer), and my beautiful daughter who is NOT going into the military or any form of law enforcement except maybe hall monitor), Melody. I am so proud of each of them. But you knew I'd say that. My husband Mark is associate pastor of a FourSquare church outside Toledo, Ohio. And I have two of the most wonderful, awesome, amazing...yeah, I"m gushing. My grandchildren are my heart. *Update! We are now parents of a beautiful foster baby. How long she will be with us is up to God, but she is a little spitfire of a blessing.
Melody of the Heart is my first book to make it to market. I love this story! I was inspired to write it when I attened an Eli concert in Indiana. He said that he's just a normal guy who wakes up in the moring with his hair sticking up, and I thought...what if? Then I attended a Michael W. Smiith concert and he mentioned stomach flu making its way through his cast and crew. I knew then that I had a fun, humorous story and this book is the result. I am so blessed to share it with you.
I'm not just an author, I'm the communications director for our church. Which means I write the bulletins and change the signs every few weeks. But hey, it's a title. And by day I work in a restaurant close to home because my children now drive and I never see my car. Also I get a speech in now and then, mostly about my experience as a troubled, pregnant teenager who found courage and peace in Jesus Christ.
